Job Overview
MERA RD2 is seeking energetic, dependable, and customer-focused Servers to join our team at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
We operate two full-service restaurant and bar concepts, Raleigh Beer Garden in Terminal 1 and Conniption Cocktails & Cuisine in Terminal 2. Both locations offer travelers a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy quality food, craft beers, cocktails, and attentive service.
As a Server, you will be responsible for providing a positive dining experience through friendly service, strong menu knowledge, accurate order taking, and attention to guest needs. Working in an airport restaurant requires the ability to provide efficient service while maintaining quality and professionalism, especially during busy travel periods.
Selected candidates may be assigned to either location based on experience, availability, and business needs. We are looking for individuals who enjoy working with people, take pride in providing excellent hospitality, and are willing to support their team wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Dining Room Operations
Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive, and professional service.
Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
Maintain strong knowledge of food and beverage menus, including ingredients, preparation methods, and available specials.
Make menu recommendations and answer guest questions confidently.
Deliver food and beverages accurately and in a timely manner.
Check on guests throughout their dining experience and respond promptly to requests.
Process payments accurately and follow company cash-handling procedures.
Address guest concerns professionally and communicate issues to management when necessary.
Teamwork & Restaurant Support
Work closely with bartenders, kitchen staff, and management to ensure timely and accurate service.
Assist with opening, closing, and assigned side work, including stocking, cleaning, and preparing service stations.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining areas, tables, and service stations.
Assist with seating guests, running food, bussing tables, and other front-of-house responsibilities as needed.
Communicate guest requests, order modifications, and service concerns clearly to the appropriate team members.
Support fellow employees during busy periods to maintain smooth restaurant operations.
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
Verify guest identification when serving alcoholic beverages and follow responsible alcohol service requirements.
Follow company policies, operating procedures, and airport security requirements.
Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and employees.
Qualifications & Requirements
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, with at least one year of serving experience being a plus.
Strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with travelers from different backgrounds.
Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a team-oriented attitude.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry food and beverage trays.
Willingness to assist with other front-of-house responsibilities as needed.
Must meet applicable age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
Must be eligible to obtain an airport security badge, which includes a background check as required by RDU.
Schedule & Availability
Our restaurants operate according to airport flight schedules, with shifts generally available between 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM, depending on location and business needs.
Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, including morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
Weekend availability is required. Candidates should have flexible schedules and be able to accommodate changes based on passenger traffic and operational needs.
Compensation
Base Pay: $2.13 per hour plus tips
Servers have the opportunity to earn additional income through tips, which vary depending on location, shift, passenger volume, and business activity.
Actual tip earnings vary and are not guaranteed. Total compensation will meet applicable minimum-wage requirements.
