As we continue to expand our operations at JFK Terminal 8, MERA is seeking an experienced and results-driven Dishwasher to asisst a high-volume full service dining restaurant.

In this role, you will be the backbone of our kitchen operations, ensuring all dishes, utensils, and kitchenware are impeccably cleaned, sanitized, and ready for service. Your energetic approach will help maintain a smooth flow in the bustling environment of our restaurant, catering, or hotel setting. Responsibilities

  • Efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold health and safety standards.
  • Assist with food prep tasks such as peeling, chopping, or organizing ingredients when needed to support kitchen staff.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, workstations, and storage areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Support catering and banquet events by handling dishware and assisting with setup or breakdown as required.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely clearing of tables and proper disposal of waste.
  • Follow all food handling safety procedures to prevent contamination and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Help with basic food service duties when necessary, including bussing tables or assisting servers during busy periods.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in food service, restaurant work, or hospitality environments is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures, food handling safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks with energy and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and cleaning tools.
  • Experience with catering or banquet services is a plus but not required.
  • Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting culinary operations.
  • Basic understanding of food preparation and serving practices within a restaurant or hotel setting.
